The film

The idea, in ninety seconds.

The handmade manifesto

Handmade should mean made by hand.

Somewhere along the way, “handmade” stopped meaning much. The marketplaces built on that word filled up with factory goods and resellers, and the people who actually make things got buried underneath them.

Now a machine can turn out almost anything in seconds. So the thing made slowly, by one person, with a thumbprint still in the glaze, matters more than it ever has.

It’s time to take the word back.

  1. Made by the person selling it.

No resellers. No dropshipping. No factory behind the curtain.

  2. Small on purpose.

A batch has a beginning and an end. That’s what makes it worth waiting for.

  3. Makers before marketplaces.

No listing fees. No ads to buy. No algorithm to please.

  4. People, not feeds.

The ones who follow you hear first, and they hear it from you.

  5. Rest is part of the work.

Sell out, close up, and make again when you’re ready.

If that sounds like you, come make with us.

A small beginning

For the love of making.

I’m building Crafd for people who love making things, but don’t want to run a shop all the time.

The idea is simple: make a batch, bring your people, sell it, and step away until you’re ready for the next one.

We’re starting with a small group of makers and shaping this together. I’d love you to be part of it.
